A 10-minute after-close review for challenge traders
A short post-session checklist: rules first, then process, then tomorrow’s risk. Links to the free tools that make the numbers fast.
During the session your job is execution. After the close your job is learning — without rewriting history.
A useful review is short. Ten minutes is enough if you always ask the same questions.
Minute 1–3: Rules
- Did I stay inside daily loss and max drawdown?
- How much room is left for tomorrow?
- Did I increase size after a win or a loss?
If you broke a rule, write that first. Everything else is secondary.
Re-check remaining room with the prop firm drawdown calculator using today’s ending equity.
Minute 4–7: Process
For each trade (or the day’s best and worst):
- What was the plan?
- Did I follow the stop and target I defined?
- Was R acceptable before entry? (Use the risk-reward calculator if you skipped it live.)
Tag the setup. One honest tag beats a paragraph of excuses.
Minute 8–10: Tomorrow
- Fixed risk percent for the next session
- Max number of trades
- One behavior to stop (e.g. chasing the open)
Pre-size the first idea with the position size calculator so tomorrow starts with numbers, not hope.
Keep it in one place
Spreadsheet reviews die when you are tired. Log the trades, attach the note, and keep challenge rules on the same account in TradeKeel — so the after-close ritual is always the same path.
